Water quantity per capita

The abundance of water in Iceland  have made Icelanders take their high quality water for granted. Iceland water source is the world´s richest in terms of petaliter per capita.

Water Quantity

Several thorough measurments have been performed on the underground stream flow from the Olfus highlands to the shore. The underground stream flow underneath the surface of our land, Selvog´s stream, has been measured 22 m3/sec (e.g. measurment performed by Orkuveita Reykjavikur (Reykjavik´s Power Supply) 2006)

Water analysis of Selvog´s stream

Number of tests and analysis have been performed on the water of our natural spring water stream  by private and governmental institutions – here is the result from one of them

Water Quality

Rich spring water resources flow from the mountains in the south west part of Iceland. The water is naturally filtered through the mountains and lava for hundreds of years and gathers into an underground spring water river, which sustainably and naturally flows underneath our large area of land and into the ocean – and has done so for thousands of years.

Water

Our natural spring water source is of unmatched purity. This water has gathered underneath the surface of our land, totally uncontaminated and naturally filtered through the lava for hundreds of years and formed underground natural spring water streams.

The extraordinary volume of this high quality water has been measured at 22 cbm/sec., making this source perhaps the richest natural spring water source in the North Atlantic.
